The Kibbutz Movement Rehabilitation Fund
Rebuilding the Kibbutz Spirit
On October 7, our lives changed – as kibbutzim, as a society, and as a nation.
The events of Black Saturday and the Iron Swords War transformed the reality of communities in the western Negev and northern kibbutzim. As fields burned and homes were destroyed, we embarked on the mission of our lives – a mission unlike any the Kibbutz Movement had ever faced.
This is how The Kibbutz Movement Rehabilitation Fund was established – a fund dedicated to supporting and guiding communities on their journey of recovery and growth, with the goal of rebuilding them as thriving, resilient communities.
Over the past two years, the Fund has supported 56 kibbutz communities across the north and south, assisting more than 50 initiatives and projects in all areas of communal rehabilitation: strengthening leadership, fostering personal and communal resilience, guiding community-building processes, and developing social and economic growth engines.
And the journey? It has only just begun. As most communities return home, the true work of rebuilding is now underway.
We invite you to join us - to stand alongside those reconstructing the nation.
Together, with sensitivity and a sense of purpose we will rise from the devastation. Through support, guidance, and assistance, we will walk with them every step of the way on the complex journey back home.

Message from the Security General of the Kibbutz Movement:
"The war has changed our reality – on both the southern and northern fronts. As fields burned and homes were destroyed, we set out on the mission of our lives, a mission the Kibbutz Movement had never faced before.
To succeed, we need your support – to stand with us on this journey of recovery and growth."

It is no coincidence that the kibbutzim alongside the Gaza Envelope were among the hardest hit on October 7. They were strategically placed on the borders and their placement is the essence of the kibbutz spirit: re-habitation, cultivation of the land, protecting the boarders
These values are combined with a commitment to education, meaningful work, mutual responsibility, and community.
Now, as most communities return to their kibbutzim in the western Negev, we embark a careful, sensitive journey to rebuild the kibbutz spirit, identifying needs and providing support across all areas of communal life.
