Our Story
The story of the fund begins on Black Saturday, October 7, 2023.
It is not by accident that the Western Negev and Northern Kibbutzim were the worst hit population on October 7th. They were strategically placed on the borders and their placement is the essence of the kibbutz spirit: re-habitation, cultivation of the land, protecting the boarders
Alongside this lies education in values for meaningful action, mutual responsibility, and community.
The Kibbutz Spirit is without a doubt one of the corner stones of Israeli society. And this spirit was broken, cracked.
The rehabilitation and rebuilding of this spirit is the key to rebuilding Israel, based on stable and humane values.
Only through our Pioneers, Protectors, People can we rebuild a vibrant, dynamic Israeli society that puts people at its center.
This is a long process that doesn't happen overnight. Rebuilding the kibbutzim, restoring the spirit that was so badly wounded, will take time and many resources. We cannot and will not take shortcuts.
The kibbutzim led the establishment of the State of Israel by their extraordinary resilience in the face of enormous challenges. Today, they are once again called upon to lead the way.
We, at the Kibbutz Movement Rehabilitation Fund, are here to give our kibbutzim the strength to rise from the ashes and build themselves anew.
To build the kibbutz spirit again. To build their communities again. To build our country again.

About Us
As a cooperative representing 259 kibbutzim, the Kibbutz Movement works to meet the needs of all kibbutzim in Israel.
Since October 7 and the Iron Swords War, these needs have multiplied, and new challenges have emerged.
The Kibbutz Movement Rehabilitation Fund was established to address the urgent and ongoing needs of kibbutzim affected as a result of the October 7 attacks and the Iron Swords War. Over the past two years, the Fund has provided immediate support while also developing medium and long-term programs, accompanying communities through every stage of the rehabilitation process.

Our Vision
The fund aims to support rehabilitation, rebuilding, and growth of kibbutz communities – to ensure, as much as possible, their reestablishment as thriving, resilient communities.
This is achieved by rebuilding the kibbutz spirit, grounded in the pioneering vision, the defense of Israel's borders, and a renewed commitment to solidarity and social responsibility.

Our Methodology
At the Rehabilitation Fund, we walk hand in hand with communities, listening closely to their individual and collective needs.
We believe that only through genuine partnership can we deliver precise, effective, and lasting solutions.
Using an organizational framework rooted in knowledge-sharing and technological innovation, the Fund identifies the needs of communities across Israel and matches them with tailored support. Through humility, dedication, and care, we strengthen the kibbutz spirit through projects across three guiding pillars:

Pioneers – We Dream
Projects advancing the pioneering Zionist vision

Protectors – We Cultivate
Projects promoting demographic growth, re-habilitation, and agricultural recovery

People – We Build
Projects strengthening personal and community resilience, supporting the people who rebuild the kibbutz.
